What is Misophonia?

"Misophonia is a disorder of decreased tolerance to specific sounds or stimuli associated with such sounds. These stimuli, known as “triggers,” are experienced as unpleasant or distressing and tend to evoke strong negative emotional, physiological, and behavioral responses that are not seen in most other people."

 Mission

The MisoForum Project

We aspire to inform people affected by misophonia in any way (those who have it, friends, family and clinicians) In equal parts we aim to create a platform for respectful and empathetic discussion around the topic of misophonia; perspectives are powerful and we hope to harness that to create a community where no one walks alone. Though this website is geared towards adolescents and young adults - all are welcome to learn and ask questions!
